Security Management Degree

A security management degree can help security professionals move up to management positions by learning how to effectively manage a team of security professionals to protect the assets of a business.

Security Management Training and Courses

Like many advanced degrees in the criminal justice field, the security management degree focuses on the leadership aspects of managing fellow security professionals, as well as the logistics, planning and policies of effective security procedures. In addition, there is a liaison component of the coursework that focuses on interacting with law enforcement agencies at various levels in order to ensure maximum responsiveness.

In addition to earlier coursework in surveillance and monitoring, students pursuing a security management degree will likely learn how to establish continuity plans in the case of a natural disaster or emergency that include protecting key data and equipment for their employers. They may also be involved with creating protocols for evacuation of personnel and liaising with law enforcement during critical situations in order to protect client employees.

In addition, you’ll learn about asset protection in the case of fire, natural issues or the potential terrorist attack, and learn how to work with top executives at a company in order to establish priorities in the case of an emergency. That can include working with companies to maintain regulations and policies that are in line with local or state regulations.
